Jean, Kirsten, Cindy and I decided to head over to the west side of the mountains where it might be cooler and to hike something different for a change. It was misty at times and foggy up near the lake. A very pretty hike and much easier now that they've put in steps. We hiked over to the falls first and then headed up to the lake. This side of the mountains is more green and wet with moss and ferns growing everywhere. It's nice for a change of pace. We all thought the lake looked like some sort of Rorschach inkblot.
We discovered a large batch of mushrooms growing on tree.
The sunlight shining down on these bushes made for the brightest green. It felt like we were looking at a neon light.
Looking up at some of the falls through the trees.
A small section of the falls. I loved the scaly rock that the falls spilled over.
Cindy hiking up the trail to the top of Bridal Veil Falls.

Lake Serene looking like a rorschach inkblot.
A view of Lake Serene with the cliffs in the background. The cliffs were also very impressive.
