Dave and I decided it was time for a more ambitious hike. So we hiked up to Snow Lakes. We hadn't been up there since 1994 when we got caught in the big '94 fire. We were lucky to see a marten fishing at the dam between the lower and upper Snow Lakes.

The irrigation district had started releasing water from the dam and it shoots out of a big pipe below the two lakes.

Lower Snow Lake. You can tell that the water level is lower because of the dam release.
