The Winding Rivulets is a small collection of artists with a mission to motivate, stimulate, inspire and promote artistic creativity and cooperative marketing through a structured support group.

With this mission in mind, we developed a one-year plan to create art for a show entitled A Journey of Artistic Growth, consisting of 4 projects, each with a specific name, theme and method for creating the art pieces.

A Journey of Artistic Growth

A Journey of Artistic Growth is a project conceived by the artists to encourage inner exploration and artistic growth, extending outward from the artist to the community.

1. Project: Awakening
   Theme: Self-realization
   Method: Book — This book should reflect your inner exploration to discover and awaken yourself.
2. Project: Building   See Now!
   Theme: Self-esteem
   Method: Building Blocks — Each artist builds her project from materials chosen by each artist. The materials chosen are: polymer clay, glass, buttons, Margaret's fabric strip, and a quote.
3. Project: Engaging
   Theme: Self-expression
   Method: Synonyms — Self-expression using synonyms for Engaging: intermesh, mesh, interact, interlace, interlock, and interplay on which to base our own individual techniques. We would have to "justify" our choice of techniques to the words.
4. Project: Sharing
   Theme: Self with Community
   Method: Flat Pass-along — - Starting with a flat panel of hand-woven fabric, we each add an embellishment, then pass it on to the next artist. This is a challenging project because we must use what we have learned and experienced from the previous projects. Awakening, building, engaging, and sharing the space, the direction, the artistic flavor, the materials and the time with our community of artists.
